Open the Chrome browser on your mobile and you'll see the most visited websites at the top. But sometimes there are searches in there that you've looked up before. Annoying, but you can do something about it. We explain how to get rid of them.
We like neatness and predictability. And should you be as autistic as us, you don't like the fact that old queries keep popping up in this list. Previously, you could turn this off by turning off the option "Organic repeatable queries in Most Visited Tiles" in chrome://flags. But since Chrome 131, that option is gone.
Fortunately, this option can be re-enabled via a workaround. In the address bar, go to this address:
chrome://flags
Look for the flag `Temporarily unexpire M130 flags.` and set it to Enabled.
After this, the flag `Organic repeatable queries in Most Visited tiles` returns. Set it to Disabled and click the Restart button at the bottom right.
Are there still old searches in the most visited websites tile now? Then delete one of them by long-clicking on it and choosing "delete. You'll find that after that they all disappear, and better yet, never come back.
Unless Google Chrome Mobile gets another new update that hides the option even deeper. Until then, the above solution will give you some peace of mind in your browser again.
