Asus introduces new P535 with build-in GPS receiver and TomTom NAVIGATOR
The new P535 is the latest member within the Asus family of devices and will be equipped with build-in GPS receiver, fast processor, large amount of available memory, TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 and Wifi 802.11b/g connections.
The Taiwanese company ASUSTeK Computer and the sub-brand Asus have introduced a new Windows Mobile PocketPC device; the ASUS P535. We would like to emphasize some of the interesting features inside the device.
First, it is the first PocketPC device from Asus with built-in GPS-receiver with SiRF Star III chipset. The well-known navigation package TomTom NAVIGATOR, in this case version 6, is as a standard available on the device. Next to this there is 256 MB of built-in flash memory, in addition to the 64 MB of dynamic memory. Another strong feature of the new device is the processor; an Intel XScale 520 MHz processor.
The newly developed PocketPC has not got a keyboard, only a 5-way directional key and several soft keys. The new P535 shows some major resemblance with the recently announced glofiish X500 from E-ten and the HTC P3300, which is currently available on the market. Main differences between the HTC and Asus devices are the absence of a FM-radio, EDGE and only the support for three frequency ranges (Tri band) inside the Asus P535, instead of four (Quad band).
