Update: Nokia continues N-series line-up with new rumoured N93i

Today more information has been unveiled about the new N93i. The rumoured device and successor of the N93, the first ever multimedia computer, will be a new device build on the basis of the current N93 but with some major differences.

Today more information has been unveiled about the new N93i. The rumoured device and successor of the N93, the first ever multimedia computer, will be a new device build on the basis of the current N93 but with some major differences with respect to looks, buid-in specifications and the name.

The new N93i which is shown on the pictures below consists of a mini-USB port instead of a pop-port and different joystick on the right hand side. The position for the infrared port situated on the left hand side and a memory card slot on the right hand side have also been changed. Futhermore it is quite clear that the external screen will vanish when switched off in relation to the external mirror surface and that the handsfree speaker is situated on left hand side of the device.

The first specifications of the new device:

Size: 119 x 56 x 28 mm
Display: 2.4" TFT display with 262.000 colors and a QVGA resolution
Camera: 3.2 Mpixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, flash, optical zoom and DVD-like recording
Memory: 50 MB + MiniSD memory slot
Connectivity: Mini-USB port, Infrared, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, 3G/UMTS, Wifi 802.11b/g
Messaging: SMS, MMS, Picture messaging, Email
Operating system: Symbian operating system with Series 60 3rd Edition user interface
Miscellaneous: FM-radio, Video-out, Flight mode
