Last week Nokia has introduced 6 new and simple phones; the 1202, 1661, 2323 Classic, 2330 Classic, 5130 XpressMusic and 7100 Supernova. They have alluring forms and friendly prices.
We have discussed the 7100 Supernova before, but the other phones are new. They do not really have spectacular specs, but it are descent phones to make your calls with.
Nokia 7100 Supernova
The Nokia 7100 Supernova hasn't changed that much in comparison with the phone we have described in October this year; it is a slider with a 1.3 megapixel camera and a built-in FM receiver. The 7100 Supernova is part of the new Supernova series with its prominent appearance. The device also supports Share and Mail on Ovi; Nokia's online photo gallery and mail service.
The Nokia 7100 Supernova will be in stores this quarter in the colours Jelly Red, Fresh Blue and Black. The expected price is 75 euro. (around 96,- US Dollar or 61,- British Pound)
Nokia 5130 XpressMusic
The 5130 XpressMusic is the most musical device of all six. It has a FM receiver and 3.5mm audio jack. The 5130 XpressMusic has a 2.0 megapixel camera and with the 2.0 the 5130 has the most megapixels of all the six new devices.
The Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is expected to be in stores in the first quarter of 2009. Prices start at 90 euro, but you do get a 1 GB memory card with it. The device will be available in red and blue.
Nokia 2323 Classic and 2330 Classic
The other 4 devices are even more simple, but they did receive quite some attention of Nokia. Both the 2323 Classic and the 2330 Classic support the new Mail of Ovi.
Both devices have a FM receiver that can be activated by only pressing one button. You can also record radio fragments, which is easy to record for instance a ringtone. A big difference between the devices is that the 2330 Classic has a built-in VGA resolution camera.
Both devices are expected to be in stores the second quarter of 2009 and will cost around 50 euro. The 2323 Classic will only be available in black, the 2330 Classic will besides Black also be available in Deep Red.
Nokia 1202 and 1661
Finally the new devices Nokia 1202 and the Nokia 1661 are discussed. The Nokia 1202 is THE new model of Nokia and the follower of the 1200. It can't be easier than this and this is exactly the reason why the price is only around 25 euro.
The Nokia 1661 should only cost 5 euro more, but the consumer will get a built-in FM receiver. So, that's not a bad deal.
Both devices have a low price, but they also have some great specs, like a flashlight-function, an extra long battery life and extra loud ringtones. If multiple people use the 1202 or the 1661 every user can keep her/his own phonebook. That is for instance easy when the phone is also being used by children.
The Nokia 1202 is expected this quarter, the 1661 is expected in the beginning of next year.
