Android One is a Google standard that phone manufacturers can comply with. Android One phones have a standard Android version without changes, skin or bloatware and are therefore fast and regularly updated. Something they're obliged to do.

For example, phones with Android One are provided with monthly security updates for three years from the time of release. Android One phones also receive Android upgrades although manufacturers may differ. A big advantage in addition to receiving regular updates is the equal user experience between Android One phones.

History

Google announced the Android One program in 2014 and it aims to end the cumbersome update policy of Android phones. Initially Android One was intended for simple phones with low hardware specifications. However, mid-range and even high-end models are now equipped with Android One. Possibly because of the popularity among users and the disappearance of Google's own low-cost Nexus models.
