Samsung is releasing its fully wireless earbuds under the series name Galaxy Buds. Earlier, the wireless earbuds came out under the serial name Galaxy Gear which also includes smartwatches. So since 2019, the earbuds have their own series name; Buds.
The first wireless earbuds were the 2016 Samsung Gear IconX. With these, Samsung aimed at a sporty target group that used the earbuds mainly during sports. For example, they had ear and wing tips so they stayed in place. Since then, Samsung has released a successor every year, in recent years simultaneously with the launch of a new Galaxy S flagship.
