Will the Apple iPhone SE (4th Gen) get a notch, or not? Analyst thinks so

To notch, or not to notch

Apple analyst Ross Young is sure; the next iPhone SE will have a notch. Meanwhile, there are several rumors that confirm this, and about as many rumors that contradict it. Who is right?

We don't know the answer to that 100% for sure. What we do know is that Apple keeps surprising us with old technology in a new iPhone. A 60Hz screen on the iPhone 16? Check! USB 2.0 on the iPhone 15? Check! Or what about the slow transition to AMOLED and 5G. On that note, the notch on the iPhone SE (4th Gen) wouldn't surprise us one bit.

And Ross Young too, this scenario seems increasingly plausible. A full iPhone lineup consisting of models with the Dynamic Island would make things a lot easier for Apple, for sourcing parts and maintaining software, for example.

Dynamic Island vs Notch

So why we have seen protypes and dummies of the iPhone SE 4 with a Dynamic Island remains guesswork. Virtually all of these models came from one source: Sonny Dickson. That's not to say that fake news is being intentionally spread, but it does make the chances of it a lot easier.

But Evan Blass also made mention of an iPhone SE with Dynamic Island. It's now Blass versus Young, both superpowers when it comes to predictions. And the outcome of which we dare not guess. So we will have to wait until Apple announces the device and we can put this discussion behind us.
