High-resolution renders show new design of Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and 4 Pro
In addition to new Galaxy S phones, we also expect new Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds at the end of February. Images of these Buds4 and 4 Pro have recently been leaked online, revealing yet another all-new design. This is the fourth year in a row that Samsung has made major design changes.
Samsung still seems to be searching for the final direction for the Galaxy Buds line. For example, the Buds 4 will again get a totally new design. This time with flat stalks and the lack of luminous elements (blade lights). Something the Buds 3 Pro still had and what made it unique.
.It was Android Headlines that first shared these images. Whether the Galaxy Buds 4 will also come out in white and the Buds 4 Pro will also come out in black we don't know yet. If not, though, you can easily tell them apart. Especially since in terms of appearance there is not very much difference between the two, something that will probably be true in terms of price.
Samsung applies a transparent lid in the case, something it also did with the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro. But the earbuds look nothing like their predecessor. This time, the stem has a flat design with a brushed steel finish.
New design but features still unclear
While the earbuds of the Buds 4 go inside the ear, they do not completely seal it like in-ear earbuds. The Buds 4 Pro do have silicone tips so they also passively filter ambient noise because of the in-ear fit. Both variants most likely have Active Noise Canceling. In fact, we see microphones on both. These capture ambient noise to generate an accurate counterphase, resulting in a quieter listening experience.
Earlier rumors spoke of a suggested retail price of €179 for the Galaxy Buds 4, and €249 for the more elaborate Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. This puts Samsung in competition with Apple's AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation and Apple's AirPods 3 Pro. The Sony WF-1000XM5 is also a formidable opponent in this price segment.
