ImCoSys; first Linux Smartphone for European market


Next to all new Windows Mobile and Symbian devices the first European Linux Smartphone popped up at Cebit 2006. The Swiss company ImCoSys introduced this new device last week.

On CeBIT 2006 in Hannover the Swiss company ImCoSys presented their new smartphone with the name ImCoSys Smartphone. The design of smartphone is not special but looks pleasantly. The new device uses Linux as the main operating system and supports GSM, GPRS and EDGE connections. Next to that there are Wifi and Bluetooth features onboard the device.

Furthermore there is a build-in GPS receiver expecially for navigation and the display is 262K colour screen with QVGA reslution. There is no camera in the device. It is expected that sales of this device will begin during June. The price will be around the 300 Euros.
