Watch: OnePlus shares first camera results of OnePlus 13T
The OnePlus 13T, expected on April 24, features a dual 50MP camera on the back: a main camera as well as a telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. What these are capable of, OnePlus is already showing.
As far as we are concerned, OnePlus chooses a remarkable camera setup for the 13T. It is a flagship yet we find only two cameras on the back; a 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto camera. The latter is optically capable of 2x zoom. That sounds meager but, according to OnePlus, is up to 4x zoom with no loss of quality. In this, the device is aided by clever application of software.

So a camera with an ultra-wide-angle camera is missing. And that one is especially useful for landscape shots or when you want to capture just a bit more on camera. How OnePlus plans to solve that, we won't hear today. However, they do address concerns about the telephoto lens' limited zoom level by providing some sample photos shot with the OnePlus 13T.
Portrait photos
The first photos released by OnePlus are all portrait photos. That's no coincidence; that's exactly what a telephoto camera is very strong at. OnePlus didn't make it easy on itself either; some photos were shot in extra difficult lighting conditions. Like in the dark and with a lot of contrast.
OnePlus also released some sample photos shot with the 50MP main camera. These do not disappoint either but some do lack the extra viewing angle we are used to from an ultra-wide angle. Especially in landscape photos, we miss some extra space to the left and right of the photo.
OnePlus indicates in the above sample photos what settings they used including the ISO value and shutter speed. But because the OnePlus 13T uses Oppo's Image Engine found in other flagships, the best settings are automatically set for you.
The launch of the OnePlus 13T is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. local time. That event will take place in China, where the device will initially only be available for purchase. We'll hear then whether the company has plans for a launch outside of China.
