Polestar comes with own mobile: Polestar Phone 5G

The Polestar brand, known for its electric automobiles, is now launching a different kind of mobile device —its own smartphone. The Polestar Phone 5G will not lure customers away from Apple and Samsung but primarily intends to offer seamless integration with Polestar cars.

Why integrate Android Auto or Carplay into your car when you can also release your own mobile? That's what Polestar must have thought when they developed this Polestar Phone 5G. The device was created together with Meizu, which has the same owner: Geely.

Unboxing of the Polestar Phone 5G

The Polestar Phone 5G is expected on April 23 in China. For now, it looks like the device will only be sold there. Specifications are currently unknown except for a triple rear camera on the back. The device comes with a free case, a striking yellow charging cable, and even a charger.

Meizu

Browsing through Meizu's website, the Polestar Phone looks suspiciously similar to the Meizu 20 Infinity and 21 Pro. Those phones also have vertically stacked cameras, and the flash looks identical. Incidentally, those phones are only available in China and may soon be applied to Polestar Phones.

It recently became clear that Meizu will stop making phones and focus on an AI operating system from now on.
