Korean media: Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch delayed at last minute
According to South Korean ETnews, Samsung has postponed the launch of the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge due to the sudden death of fellow Samsung Electronics CEO Han Jong-hee. The launch of the thin S25 Edge was scheduled for April 15.
Han Jong-Lee died of a heart attack at the age of 63. Han was responsible within Samsung for the electronics division, particularly TVs. Samsung, given Han's passing, would not consider it appropriate to hold a product launch so soon after.

It is now targeting a launch for the S25 Edge between May and June. With an expected thickness of 5.8 millimeters, the Galaxy S25 Edge should be the thinnest Galaxy phone in years. It will also be an early answer to the expected iPhone 17 Air which will also be extremely thin. Apple's answer is not expected until the fall.
S25 Edge sales target
Samsung aims to sell 3 million units of the S25 Edge. That will be quite a task as the device will not initially launch worldwide. According to previous rumors, the device will be in stores in only 39 countries after launch.
Earlier we were able to tell you that the original launch date of the device was scheduled for April 15. In doing so, we also mentioned type numbers and the available memory versions: 12+256 and 12+512GB. Earlier, a model with only 8GB of RAM was also mentioned but we have not found it as of yet. That also seems unlikely because it seems too little to enable all Galaxy AI features.
