Firmware Update Friday - Week 20 2011

It's time to say goodbye to some nasty old bugs! This week a firmware update for the Samsung Omnia 7, Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 2X Speed.

Samsung Omnia 7 - Windows Phone 7392

Finally. Owners of the Samsung Omnia 7 get the NoDO update for their handset. This update was released a few months ago, and rolled out to the owners of other Windows 7 Phone devices. For Samsung phones this update appeared to have disastrous consequences. It was reason for Microsoft to instantly stop the roll out of the update for handsets of Korean brand. Now there is a fix, which ensures that you'll get NoDo with new features like copy-paste. To install the software you need to connect your phone to a computer and startup the Zune software.

Samsung i9100 Galaxy S II - XWKE2

At the release, the Samsung Galaxy S II suffered from a number of childhood diseases. The device gave some unexplained errors, and automatic adjustment of screen brightness did not work properly, annoying some users with a screen that flickered. Tese issues should be solved with this update. You can update using KIES. You install this package on your PC and then connect your phone via a USB cable to update.

LG Optimus 2X Speed - v10d

The LG Optimus 2X Speed, the first dual-core phone on the market, had some annoying bugs at its release. Some users had a device that rebooted over and over again. That's solved with this update. This update also brings a better media player to your phone. The update is available over the air.
