Clarity on Motorola Moto G86 5G: complete specification list released
Two versions: 5200 mAh and 6720 mAh
After the first images of the Moto G86 appeared in mid-April, the picture is now complete. The likely list of specifications is in and not only tell us more about its future features, it also reports the arrival of two versions. One with a 5200 and one with a 6720 mAh battery.
The image below appeared on @evleaks' timeline on X. We no longer link to the old Twitter but if you're subscribed to Evan's timeline I'm sure you can find it. We see in addition to the image we saw in mid-April the full specifications of the G86 5G.
We see that the device gets a flat 6.67-inch large pOLED screen with bright 4500-nits display and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. That suggests we are dealing with a mid-range device but one with a sharper 1220p resolution. The device further runs Android 15 and gets two years of OS upgrades and four years of bi-monthly security updates.
The Moto G86 features a Dimensity 7300 chip from MediaTek which confirms our suspicions of a mid-range device. There is a nice amount of RAM memory present; 8 and 12GB. That is virtually expandable to 24GB but at the expense of storage memory which starts at 128 and goes up to 256GB.
Giga battery
A little further down, our eye catches the battery capacity. Two options are mentioned; a conservative 5200mAh and an ambitious 6720mAh. The latter weighs only 13 grams more despite the much larger capacity. Presumably Lenovo is applying the new Silicon-Carbon battery although it is still unclear if it will be available worldwide. Don't count on it.
Available colors are Spellbound, Chrysanthemum, Cosmic Sky and Golden Cypress. These are all Pantone colors and represent dark blue, hot red, purple and green, respectively. We have already been able to show you the dark blue and purple versions, the other colors remain a secret for now.
Moto G86 price
Unfortunately, we haven't been able to get a launch date for you yet, but we do know its recommended retail price. Thanks to EAN codes we found out, we see a suggested retail price of around €350 for the model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. By the way, that price is in line with what the G85 came out for at the time, so it's not crazy.
