Lenovo announces Motorola Moto G42 with OLED screen

Few had noticed, but Lenovo announced the Moto G42 two days ago. An affordable Android device with an OLED screen and dual speakers supporting Dolby Atmos sound.

Even though the Moto G42 does not yet have an official price, we do know that it is an affordable phone. We can tell by looking at the model number. For not much money, you get an OLED display measuring 6.4-inch in size. Usually, you see a more affordable LCD panel in this price category. OLED is more colorful, with more contrast due to its deeper black tints. The Full HD+ resolution provides a sharp display but is limited to 60Hz.

Also, the Motorola Moto G42 features two speakers with spacious Dolby Atmos sound. On the back, we find a 50MP primary camera that Lenovo has equipped with QuadPixel technology. Combining 4 pixels into 1 creates clear images, even in the dark. However, we will wait for the final results before going along with this narrative. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a MacroVision camera for close-ups up to 3cm.

Android 12 with My UX

The battery is on the generous side at 5000mAh, and Lenovo promises you can quick charge it with a TurboPower charger. The G42 is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor. This chipset doesn't have 5G support, so 4G is the fastest it can handle. Lenovo is shipping the Moto G42 with Android 12 with My UX on top. The device will be available in the coming days in Brazil in the colors Atlantic Green and Metallic Rosé. Some European countries will follow later, as well as Latin America, Asia, India, and the Middle East.
