First photos show modified Samsung Galaxy S26 FE camera island

Samsung appears to be preparing the successor to last year's S25 Fan Edition. Images of the production-ready S26 FE have appeared online, showing a modified rear camera island. This design resembles the camera module of the S26 and the anticipated S27.

Samsung announced the last two Fan Edition devices, the S25 FE and S24 FE, in September. If Samsung continues that trend, we might expect this S26 FE in as little as 3 months. Maybe even sooner, as the images below show that the device is production-ready.

Not only does the Galaxy S26 FE appear ready for sale, it was also certified by the Wireless Power Consortium on June 6, 2026. That is how we obtained these images. There, the device with model number SM-S741 appeared showing both the front and back in a dark gray color. Samsung is placing the three rear cameras on a module this year, as is the case with the S26 series.

Color difference in camera module: possible cheaper finish?

It also appears that the camera island of the S26 FE has a slightly different color than the back. On the S26 and S26+, those colors are identical. Despite that, the device seems to fit well within the S26 family.

Apart from the different color shade of the camera island, it appears to be placed very close to the top-left corner. Why this is the case is unclear. Perhaps this was necessary due to a revised internal component layout. Let's hope it's because Samsung is using a battery of at least 5000 mAh this time, although those rumors have not yet surfaced.
