World record texting crushed by 10 seconds

A woman from Great Britain squashed the world record texting by an impressive 10 seconds. With a little help from a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone with Swype.

The 27-year-old Melissa Thompson needed a mere 25.94 seconds to type the following commonly used phrase; “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human”.

Swype record

This means bad news for an 24-year-old American who previously held the record with 35.54 seconds.

Swype

You probably know Swype as a new way to input text on mobile phones. Simply swype from letter to letter to enter a word, Swype then knows which word you mean. Swype comes standard on the new Samsung Galaxy S.
