Nokia announces "great-value-for-money" Nokia 5250

Just moments ago Nokia official announced the Nokia 5250; a "multipurpose touchscreen mobile with some great music qualities".

Those aren't exactly our words but luckily Nokia explains. The Nokia 5250 is a multipurpose phone with lots of music in it; 51 MB of memory but expandable up to 16 GB, build-in FM radio and unlimited access to Ovi Music Unlimited (selected territories). Want to make your own music instead? The 5250 comes with a free copy of Guitar Hero 5 Mobile.

You can also access multiple e-mail accounts such as Ovi Mail, Gmail or Yahoo! Mail. Prefer Instant Messaging? No problem for the 5250. And thanks to Symbian^1 and Ovi Store you can easily install new applications or games.

According to Nokia the Nokia 5250 has excellent battery life. Up to 18 days standby, 7 hours talktime and up to 24 hours listening to music. We guess this wont hold up in every day life.

No 3G connectivity

Unfortunately the Nokia 5250 doesn't come with 3G capabilities. Some of the other features are a 2.8 inch HVGA resolution TFT touchscreen with 16:9 aspect ratio and a 2 megapixel camera. The 5250 is expected to ship before the end of the year. Prices are 115 EURO before taxes and subsidies.
