Images show realme phone with 15000 mAh battery and built-in “air conditioner”

If you thought recent phones with 6000 mAh big batteries were big, wait for what Realme has in store. A phone with an almost unbelievable 15000 mAh battery. Much bigger than usual in a phone, but as much capacity as a power bank. But much more compact.

Realme will announce the device on August 27, 2025 during the 828 Fan Festival. During this event, realme will showcase new technological developments including 320W Supersonic fast charging that can charge a 4420mAh battery from 1 to 100% in just 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

So that other announcement concerns a smartphone with 15000 mAh large battery, enough to stream 50 hours of video, play 18.5 hours of video or over 5 days in standby. There is only one drawback to this; temperatures run quite high.

Built-in AC

But realme has a solution to that problem: built-in air conditioning. There is a grille on the side with a fan behind it. realme claims in a video on Instagram it can reduce temperatures by 6°C with this. We can imagine, though, that this solution introduces whole new problems, including with waterproofing.

The device does not have a name yet, it is also possible that it will appear only in India and will not get a worldwide release. Meanwhile, we wonder aloud why a phone with such a large battery needs a fan? Is it the battery that requires it?

So far, phones work mostly with passive cooling including Vapor Chambers. There are exceptions including the Redmagic 10 Pro and its Ice-X cooling system. It too works with a built-in fan.
