Possible back Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with screen spotted
Screen does more than just display the time
There have long been rumors that Xiaomi is putting a second screen on the back of its 17 Pro Max. Now we have found an image that shows this screen, and we can really see how big it is. If this image turns out to be true.
Just yesterday, we wrote about the new naming scheme Xiaomi plans to implement for its 17 series. Back then, the Weibo account where Xiaomi explained the naming decision included the below image of the alleged Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. We assumed a render from a fan, yet Xiaomi took the image offline. Did it turn out to be too close to the truth?

The outline of the device matches previously published photos of the 17 Pro Max where the screen was not on. Xiaomi seems to possibly opt for a full-screen one with cutouts for the two cameras. Underneath the module is a third camera it seems.
Second screen more for show time only
Again elsewhere, we found a video that only seems to confirm the message. A green background with a round clock and where there are cutouts for the cameras. Also shown are variants that simply show a background and a viewfinder which is useful for shooting selfies with the main camera.

Providing the camera tray with a secondary display also gives it a functional function. Other specs of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max that previously made the rounds include a 6.8-inch screen, a 7500mAh battery and equipped with Qualcomm's yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 chip. Expect the device to arrive in China starting in October, with (hopefully) a global release sometime in 2026.
