The hardware of the Bold 9780 is an update of the Bold 9700. internal memory doubled to 512 Mb, and the handset now has a 5 megapixel camera. On the software side of the story, there are more changes, that will be available on the 9700 soon as well: The Bold 9780 runs BlackBerry 6, RIM's new operating system.
Updates
BlackBerry 6 brings a number of improvements, like better menu's, quicker start-up, and a WebKit based browser. RIM already promised that the system will also come to the Bold 9700. The Curve 9300 will be updated to the new OS as well.
