Renders show Lenovo ThinkPhone with carbon back cover

Motorola's parent company is reportedly about to announce a smartphone under its own name. Pictures of this Lenovo ThinkPhone are now surfacing and show a carbon-covered rear.

Lenovo has taken over many products over the years. For example, the ThinkPad laptops originally came from IBM, and the Moto phones came from Motorola, which was acquired in 2014. But the company is reportedly about to release a smartphone under its own name, the ThinkPhone. And it will look something like this:

Renderings of this Lenovo ThinkPhone were recently published by Evan Blass on his Twitter account. We see a fairly angular device with a punch-hole for the selfie camera and a rear triple camera system consisting of at least one 50MP sensor.

Carbon look

The back is made of carbon, making the ThinkPhone fit nicely into the ThinkPad series, where this material is also widely used. Motorola has no less than 19 smartphones with precisely these features at the time of writing. So we are eager to learn why Lenovo thinks this ThinkPhone should exist.
