Motorola edge Series: Premium Design, Great Price

Are you looking for a smartphone that looks like a €1,200 flagship but don’t want to pay that much? Then the Motorola edge series is the right choice for you. Whether you’re checking out the brand-new edge 60 and 70 series or looking for a great deal on the 50 series, these phones are known for their phenomenal “endless edge” displays, clean Android software, and lightning-fast charging times. Here, you can find out which model suits your needs.

Which Motorola edge is right for you?

Motorola doesn’t always make it easy with terms like “Fusion,” “Neo,” and “Ultra.” To keep you from getting lost in the specs, we’ve broken down the lineup for you:

  • edge ultra & pro: These are the powerhouses. Think of the fastest Snapdragon processors, the best cameras with advanced zoom capabilities, and premium materials like wood or vegan leather. For the heavy user who doesn’t want to compromise.
  • Edge (Standard) & Fusion: The sensible choice. You get 90% of the high-end features (like that gorgeous OLED screen and fast charging), but at a much more affordable price. Often the “Best Buy.”
  • edge neo: Compact and stylish. While the other models are often large, the Neo is more manageable without feeling cheap. Ideal if you don’t want a brick in your pocket.

Why choose the edge series?

In addition to its attractive value for money, Motorola has two secret weapons that are giving Samsung and Apple a run for their money.

1. Hello UI: Clean and Fast

Motorola uses one of the cleanest versions of Android. No unnecessary duplicate apps or heavy skins that slow down your phone. With the new Hello UI (the successor to My UX), you get an experience similar to the Google Pixel, but with handy additions like the familiar “shake for flashlight” gesture.

Forget about charging overnight. Most Motorola edge phones (especially the edge 40 and 50 series and up) support TurboPower fast charging at 68W or even 125W. In practice, this means that by the time you finish breakfast or take a quick shower, you’ll have enough battery life to last the whole day.

Is the camera good enough?

The camera used to be Motorola’s weak point, but those days are over. Thanks to partnerships with Pantone for lifelike skin tones (Pantone SkinTone) and the integration of Sony Lytia sensors in the newer models (such as the edge 50 and 60 series), you can take photos that are rich in contrast and detail. The Pro and Ultra models, in particular, with their periscope zoom lenses, are perfect for concerts or portrait photography.
