Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 may be made of titanium

The first images of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 are already in, yet quite a few details are still missing. One of which we may be able to reveal today is what material the device is made of.

Titanium has been very popular among phone manufacturers lately. Apple put it in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Samsung followed with the S24 Ultra after which Xiaomi joined with the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

Nokia also used titanium in its phones

However, much earlier, Nokia also experimented with titanium. We found it mainly in the exterior casing, not the frame. The first time a manufacturer used a titanium frame was Essential with the Essential Phone. That phone proved ahead of its time, and it took a while for others to follow.

Lightweight titanium

So the first next titanium phone promises to be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. That is what Revegnus claimed on X. Titanium, in addition to being sturdy, is also very lightweight. Something the Fold 6 could both use.

Whether the Galaxy Fold 6 will indeed be made partly of titanium remains to be seen. Samsung usually announces its new foldables in the fall. However, there are rumors this moment will be brought forward. That would mean that both the Fold 6 and Flip 6 will be released as early as July.
