OnePlus China unveils OnePlus 13T: big battery in small phone
13T is first OnePlus phone with customizable hotkey
OnePlus has announced the OnePlus 13T as previously reported. The small device with its remarkably large battery is only available in China at first but hopefully a global launch will follow. The device is the first to feature a customizable button that allows quick actions to be performed.
Because OnePlus itself already told us a lot in advance about the 13T we already know a lot about it. For example, there is a 6260 mAh Glacier battery in the 6.32" device which is already very handsome. Charging is nice and fast at 80W but only wired; wireless charging is not supported.

Now the OnePlus 13T we learn more downsides. For example, the in-screen fingerprint unlock is optical and not ultrasonic. We know that optical unlocking is a bit less accurate and a bit slower than ultrasonic unlocking as found on the OnePlus 13. Also notable; the maximum screen brightness is "only" 1600 nits versus 4500 nits on the regular 13.
New hotkey
But enough whining, there is some good news too. Like the revamped button on the side. It still lets you set the device to silent, vibrate or sound but it can do more. It lets you turn on the flashlight, open the camera, record voice memos, translate things or take screenshots with the push of a button. If you're not keen on all this handiness; you can also turn the button off.

For now, the OnePlus 13T will only be available in China. Importing a device should be technically possible, for example, the 13T supports the 5G frequencies used in the Netherlands. That only does not apply to 4G frequencies 7 and 20. We are really waiting for a European version of the OnePlus 13T.
