Android losing mobile ad marketshare


Of all mobile views of advertisements, on websites and in apps, Android's lead with the most referrals from one user to an advertiser. The system, however, is losing ground.

In May, Android lost six percent market share in the mobile advertising market. The OS made by Google in Europe ended up just under one billion ad views. Main reason for the loss was the rise of the iPhone , as the iPhone did better than one year ago.

Ad Revenue for Google is the main income from Android. Apple also earns some money from the sale of its handsets, but the gadget maker from Cupertino also pulls its part of ad revenues.
