RIM officially announces BlackBerry Curve 8520 with trackpad

The people at RIM are not that keen on external changes, but we can tell you some news about the BlackBerry Curve 8520. The device has a trackpad, standard Mac support and a special music button.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is just as thin as the Curve 8900; 13.9 millimetre. Other specs are a 2.0 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, support for BlackBerry App World, 256 MB flash memory and a battery that can last for 17 days in the standby mode.

It all sounds great, but it is not that spectacular. Simple is the keyword.

The Curve 8520 is compatible with an Apple computer, thanks to the BlackBerry Desktop Software for the Mac. The trackpad navigation is also new, but we wonder whether the BlackBerry users, that are used to work with buttons on the BlackBerrys, are really that excited.
