A new tablet? A new smartphone? Rumour was spinning around when a vague picture of a new Nokia handset was leaked. Now, not much of it seems to be true. It is 'only' a developmentboard.
We had our question after we saw the pictures that leaked lately. Some wrote that this was a new tablets, but that now appears to be not true. Further investigation shows that that the display you see, is connected to a large motherboard. Together, they are a development device for MeeGo and a new generation of Nokia smartphones. Therefore, it is interesting to see that a dualcore processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz is mounted to the circuit board.
Nokia hereby tales part in the strife for the Gigahertzes and the cores that is ongoing in the world of smartphones. Every day, we see quicker smartphones with even mores cores under the hood. Within a year, we'll even see quadcore mobile phones. Nokia can't afford to stay behind, and thus is developing new hardware and software.
