First photos of Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra show updated design
A photo has surfaced showing the S26 Ultra and the S26. The Galaxy S26 series, expected in the first quarter of 2026, will have a slightly modified appearance, which is confirmed by published images.
The photos are from South Korea, which means they are from Samsung's own country, although that says nothing about authenticity. However, the design of both the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy S26 do match previous reports and published CAD renders.

There are subtle differences, though. For example, Samsung appears to be opting for a spot color for the entire camera island. The renders that @onleaks showed earlier based on CAD renders still gave that the same color as the back. Now we see a white S26 with silver camera platform.
Samsung puts focus on camera with Galaxy S26 series
This design choice reminds us somewhat of the S21 and S22 where Samsung did something similar with what it then called "Contour Cut Camera. That turned out to be a nightmare to fix, something that does not apply with the S26 because the tray is loose.

However, that spot color does not go for the black version. Thereby, the camera island does get the same color as the back. Ideal for those who want to go a little more incognito. It is always nice that Samsung offers multiple options, that way there is still something to Choose between.
The devices in the photos, by the way, are presumably dummies. Thus, we do not see an activated screen anywhere. Such specimens are mostly intended for use in a phone store. They give a good idea of the size and main design choices.
New design for the S26 Ultra
Speaking of design, for next year Samsung is opting for an entirely new design for the Ultra model. For example, for the first time since the S21 Ultra, the Ultra will get a design similar to the entry-level Galaxy S. For example, the three main cameras sit on a platform just like in the Galaxy S26. Previously, Samsung placed the cameras separately on the back.

Furthermore, the edges appear even more rounded than before. However, there is still an S Pen built in although it is designed a bit differently due to the more rounded corners.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch date
Samsung will most likely announce the S26 series in late February this year. Last year, the launch took place as recently as January. Presumably, in addition to the S26 and S26 Ultra, we will just get another S26+. Earlier rumors suggested that the latter model would be traded in with the successor to the S25 Edge, but due to disappointing sales, that plan was reportedly scrapped.
