Pantech at Cebit; loads of new products


The most products were introduced at Cebit 2006 by Pantech. More than 10 new European and Russian products were shown on the stand from Pantech. We will discuss them here.

Pantech is not a new brand in European region, but is not sold everywhere. Especially Russia and in the future other countries will see these new products from Pantech onto its market.

The complete stand at Cebit contained more than 25 mobile phones of which at least 12 are new for our website. These devices will be mentioned and discussed here. Between them a nice RAZR copy, some sliders and a lot of low-end devices.

Pantech PG-1405

The first device is the PG-1405, especially made for the Russian market. The specifications are simple: 65K color STN display with 128 x 128 pixels resolution, 40-tone polyphonic ringtones and VGA camera. The device is the little brother of the PG-1400 and does not have email, videorecorder and MP3 ringtones.

Pantech PG-1600

The PG-1600 is a new slider with 65K color STN display with 128 x 128 pixels resolution, 64-tone polyphonic ringtones and VGA camera. The device is closely related to the PG-1400 and is just the same but then in a slider formfactor.

Pantech PG-1800

After the PG-1400 and PG-1600, the PG-1800 is not a candybar or slider, but the clamshell version with the same specifications as the other two. It also has Bluetooth, dual speakers, music player and support for USB connectivity.

Pantech PG-1900

The new PG-1900 has in relation to the PG-1405 improved 64-tone polyphonic ringtones and support of MP3 ringtones. Built-in memory size is only 2.5mb, but it has MicroSD memory card slot, which makes the phone a simple MP3 player.

Pantech PG-3300

Another device on the same basis Pantech uses, but this device is a ladyphone with internal antenna, music player, videorecorder, speakerphone and fatness checker. The device also has special ladyphone looks.

Pantech PG-3600V

A new slider with touch wheel sensor, music player and digital equalizer is the new PG-3600V. This dedicated music device contains also a 1.3 Mpixel camera, 64-tone polyphonic ringtones, Bluetooth and support for USB connectivity. The special touch wheel on the front controls the music player.

Pantech PG-3700

The new RAZR copy is the Pantech PG-3700. This new device was one of the eye-catchers on the stand of Pantech. The external display is placed on the lower edge of the device, instead of on the flip. The external OLED screen support two colors and has two text lines. The phone is really slim and has a combination of silver and black colors. There are also a 1.3 Mpixel camera, 64-tone polyphonic ringtones, Bluetooth, document viewer and support for USB connectivity.

Pantech PG-3800

The PG-3800 is related to the mid-end clamshell segment with a small screen, pretty large size and neat polished front panel. Nothing special furthermore in this device besides the fact that the device looks closely related to the "old" PG-3200.

Pantech PG-3900

The third slider is the new PG-3900, which is made for the Asian and European market. The device consists of a 2.0 Mpixel camera, videorecoder, 64-tone polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, 262K TFT colour screen with 176 x 220 pixels resolution, document viewer and PictBridge.

Pantech PG-6200

The PG-6200 is reanimation of GI100’s idea with built-in finger-print scanner. This time it is brought down, instead of taking space of navigation key, this is very logical. Another technological addition is movement sensor (6 directions).

Next to that the design is really simple and nicely done. The device has furthermore a build-in 2.0 Mpixel camera, 64-tone polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, 262K TFT colour screen with 176 x 220 pixels resolution and music player.

Pantech PU-1100

Known as Telit device, the PU-1100 is not directly new. The device is one of the two 3G/UMTS devices from Pantech. It contains a VGA camera, 72-tone polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, music player, viderecoder, Bluetooth and and support for USB connectivity.

Pantech PU-5000

The second 3G/UMTS device is the PU-5000 which is a slider and has a build-in 1.3 Mpixel camera, 64-tone polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, music player, viderecoder, Bluetooth and and support for USB connectivity.
