"Honor gives foldable Magic V2 global release on September 1st"

The Honor Magic V2, already released in China, is getting a global release, so it seems. Honor is inviting the press for a press event because on September 1, simultaneously with the start of IFA in Berlin, Honor is holding a press event with a solid reference for a foldable device.

Since the Honor Magic V2 has already been announced for the Chinese market, the device hardly holds any secrets for us. Honor's latest foldable device is the thinnest foldable yet; when opened just 4.7 millimeters thick and closed under 10 millimeters.

Compared to Samsung's Fold5 it's 3,5 millimeters thinner. And yet, the Magic V2 features a larger 5000mAh battery. Honor has planned a press event in Berlin on September 1st. Simultaneous with the start of the annual consumer electronics fair, the IFA.

Whether Honor will use the name "V2" remains to be seen. It is a somewhat unfortunate name. It is also the name of the rocket Nazi Germany used to attack the United Kingdom during World War II. Therefore, launching a V2 in Germany in all places seems inappropriate.

Honor and IFA

Whether Honor will announce new products besides the V2 remains to be seen. In addition to phones, the company makes other consumer electronics such as laptops, tablets, and smartwatches.

In addition, Honor is the developer of MagicOS, an Android-based operating system. Unlike Huawei, Honor is unaffected by U.S. trade restrictions and can use Google services fully.
