First product renders show flat Samsung Galaxy S24

Onleaks, in collaboration with SmartPrix, has published the first product renders of the Samsung Galaxy S24. The convex sides have been exchanged for a flat one, making the device look more like an iPhone. Furthermore, there are strong similarities to last year's S23.

Samsung deployed a new minimalist design with the introduction of the Galaxy S23. Instead of placing the cameras on an island, they were spread out on the back. In the same style, Samsung will soon bring us the Galaxy S24.

The S24 is said to feature the same screen size as the S23 of around 6.1 inches. In addition to a flat-screen, the sides are now also believed to be flat. This is the first time Samsung has done that in a Galaxy S model. Apple is no stranger to flat sides; ever since the iPhone 12, the sides are flat. As a result, the Galaxy S24 does lose some of its own identity.

Material choice S24

In the renders that appeared on Smartprix, we see the Samsung Galaxy S24 with a glossy aluminum side. Whether that is the final choice of material or finish remains to be seen. The blueprints on which @onleaks bases its renders differ more than once from the final result.

Samsung usually presents its new Galaxy S lineup at the beginning of the year, usually in February. Recently, it was rumored that the launch of the S24 series might take place in January.
