OnePlus 12 expected with bright 2600 nits display

According to reports from China, OnePlus wants to bring a record-breaking bright display to the OnePlus 12. This should further improve outdoor readability.

The previous record was held by the Google Pixel 8 Pro with its Super Actua Display of a whopping 2,500 nits. The OnePlus 12 beats that, albeit just with 2,600 nits. The screen, according to this Chinese post, is said to be 6.82 inches in size and uses a LTPO-panel.

The source is no stranger to us. This person often reveals the specifications of unannounced phones. The panel maker is said to be BOE, no stranger to the industry. OnePlus opts for a Quad HD+ resolution of around 3168 x 1440 pixels with a maximum screen refresh rate of 120 Hz. The most expensive variant has 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Camera specifications OnePlus 12

Earlier the same source already leaked the camera specifications of the OnePlus 12. The main camera would feature a 50MP large sensor with a 48MP ultra-wide-angle and 64MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens. Here, only the ultra-wide-angle camera would not be equipped with OIS; all the other cameras have optical image stabilization.

It is still unclear when OnePlus will announce the successor to the OnePlus 11. Some sources believe it will happen as late as 2023. But first, we must wait for Qualcomm to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That processor is destined for the OnePlus 12 and is not yet official at the time of writing. A launch in early 2024 is, therefore, more plausible.
