The new Samsung X830 MP3 player; a next step in mobile MP3 devices

Mobil.idnes.cz shows us the first pictures of the new Samsung X830; a MP3 player and mobile phone in one small package which is smaller than many MP3 players available at this moment.

The new device consists of a really small package. It is smaller than many MP3 players currently available on the market and is the direct copy of the Asian version SPH-4300 NewMobile already saw at Cebit 2006.

The X830 has a rotator or swivel design in which a central rotating navigation disk is used as control button for the device. The TFT display has a size of 32 x 19 mm and has a resolution of 128 x 220 pixels. Next to that a 1.3 Mpixel camera, Bluetooth, infrared port, USB 2.0 and USB mass storage are supported. 64 polyphonic ringtones and MP3 ringtones can also be installed.

The device has an internal memory of 82 MB, however the retail version will have a decent amount of internal memory. It is not clear if the same amount as the SPH-4300 (1 GB) will be used. The MP3 player supports OGG, WMV and MP3 files and has a 5-band equalizer.

The overall size of the device is 85 x 29 x 20 mm and the weight is 74 grams. When the device is opened the length will be 148 mm. The official release of the new X830 will be in the autumn. Prices are not known at this stage.
