Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3; waterproof and customisable
During a special Unpacked event, Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The third generation Flip will have a waterproof casing, larger screen on the outside and plenty of accessories to personalise it to your liking.
The biggest eye-catcher of the Z Flip 3 is the four times larger Cover Screen. It now measures 1.9 inches diagonally and can therefore display a lot more text. Many other specifications have remained the same like the 6.7 inch foldable screen, the double 12MP camera and the battery capacity. There are some subtle differences though.
For example, the inner screen now has a refresh rate of 120 Hz which gives a lot smoother animations. The Flip 3 is further equipped with an improved hinge mechanism that can better keep out dust. It's still not dustproof, but it is waterproof for the first time. This gives it an IPX8 rating. Also new are the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Personalisation
Where the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip3 are a small update, Samsung innovates especially in the area of personalisation. Thanks to a whole range of accessories you can tailor the Flip3 entirely according to your own wishes. Starting with the extra colour options in which the Flip 3 will soon be available; Cream, Green, Lavender and Phantom Black. There will also be cases with ring holders or cords attached, which will be available in numerous colours. Some of these will be available exclusively from Samsung.
Availability and price Z Flip3
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be available in stores from August 27th but can already be ordered. Those who do so will receive a year of Samsung Care+ as a gift, which will protect their phone against water and crash damage. If you also trade in your old mobile, you will receive up to €200 extra in trade-in value. The entry-level price starts at 1,049 euros. That is 200 euros cheaper than what the Flip 5G was first sold for.
