The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 (2026) breaks with tradition. It is the thinnest Fold Samsung has ever made. When folded, it finally feels like a ‘normal’ smartphone. The cameras have received a massive upgrade, meaning they’re finally on a par with the S-series Ultra models. But be warned: to achieve this ultra-slim design, Samsung has dropped S Pen support.

Smart choice: Why the Z Fold 6 or 5 are still top-of-the-range devices
Not everyone needs the very latest model. In fact, for power users who swear by the stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (from 2025) the better choice. This device does support the S Pen, has a fantastic processor and has now dropped significantly in price.
Is price your top priority? Then take a look at the Galaxy Z Fold 5. For under €850, you can get a device that offers 90% of the experience of the latest models. It’s fast, waterproof and (unlike the older Fold 4) folds completely flat.
The hinge: What about the crease?
A common concern is the visibility of the crease. With the Z Fold 5 and 6, this is already minimal thanks to the ‘Flex Hinge’, which allows the device to close flat and prevents dust from getting in. On the new Z Fold 7, the screen has been made even tighter. You can still see the crease when light hits it at an angle, but during use (when looking straight at the screen) it disappears completely into the background.
