Popular brands of senior phones
There are manufacturers who make phones especially for this market. The big advantage of these phones is that apart from being simple and having a long battery life, they also have special features aimed at seniors. Think an alarm button, have extra-large keys and/or are suitable for hearing aids. Sometimes they also come with a handy stand for charging. Models from the brands below are also ideal as gifts for grandparents.

Alarm button
Having a phone can make one feel extra safe, for both its owner and family members. Especially when that phone has an alarm button. Such an auxiliary or assistance button is usually located on the back and is red in colour.
Its operation is the same on most phones. Press and hold the button for some time and a preset contact will be called. Think a family member or someone in care. Some models can also be set to send a text message to a list of contacts.
Compatible with hearing aid
A senior mobile phone is almost always compatible with hearing aid wearers. They have a HAC mode where the sound is automatically adjusted. This is currently not a feature we mention so it is preferable to check with the manufacturer beforehand whether your hearing aid is compatible.
