Alle iPhone Pro models
Every September, Apple releases a Pro and a Pro Max model. While the core technology such as the processor is often identical, there are a number of fixed differences that affect your choice. We run through each of them here.
Size and screen size
The most visible difference is the size. The iPhone Pro has a more compact screen, which makes the device more manageable. It fits more easily in your pocket and is more comfortable to operate with one hand. The iPhone Pro Max packs in a significantly larger display. This is ideal for watching movies, playing games and productivity tasks, as you simply have more screen space.
Battery life
Due to its larger size, the iPhone Pro Max has room for a larger battery. This translates directly to longer battery life. If you are a heavy user, on the move a lot and don't want to constantly recharge, the Pro Max has a clear advantage. The regular Pro has a fine battery that gets most users through the day, but the Pro Max is the undisputed marathon runner.
Camera system
Since 2025, the cameras of the Pro and Pro Max have been identical. However, there have been exceptions. In some older models, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, the Pro Max had an exclusive, more powerful telephoto lens with more optical zoom. This made the Pro Max the superior choice for photographers who often want to capture subjects from far away. So it is important to check for camera differences from generation to generation.
Weight, price and storage
A larger screen and battery come with a higher weight and price. The Pro Max is noticeably heavier and more expensive than the standard Pro. These are crucial factors to factor into your decision. Finally, the Pro Max is often available with a higher storage option, ideal for those shooting in 8K video.
