Which of the three?

Oppo's Reno4 series, announced in late 2020, consists of the Reno4 and a Reno4 Pro, in addition to this Reno4 Z. Of the trio, this Reno4 Z is the most affordable. To conclude that it is the simplest is too short. The Reno4 Z has the largest screen (6.57 inches), the fastest refresh rate (120Hz) and is the only Reno4 with a 3.5mm headphone port. On the other hand, the Reno4 Z is the only one with a MediaTek processor (Dimensity 800) and does not have 65W SuperVOOC fast charging but "only" 18W. That in a nutshell is the difference within the Reno4 series.

Camera with Beauty Beyond Skin-Deep Design

So the Reno4 Z 5G is a beautifully designed 5G phone. Partly because of the curved sides, geometric design and stylish colour scheme. The fingerprint scanner is on the right and not in the screen like its other siblings. However, you will find a dual selfie camera: 16 and 2 megapixels with the ability to blur backgrounds (portrait mode). On the back a 48MP main shooter, 8MP ultra wide angle, 2MP black and white monolens and a 2MP vintage portrait lens. The latter 2 seem to serve the same purpose and are also not very useful due to their limited resolution. In the end, you will enjoy the 48MP primary camera more. It shoots 12MP photos thanks to Quad Pixel technology but with more light output and sharper. There is even a special nite mode available; Ultra Dark Mode. This manages to shoot a detailed picture even in low light.

Battery with less fast charging

The Reno4 Z 5G has a 6.57 inch screen with FHD+ resolution and a very smooth 120 Hz display. Animations look particularly smooth because of this. It is an LTPS panel where the other Reno4 models have the much more colourful AMOLED. Inside, a MediaTek Dimensity 800 (MT6873V), a mid-range chipset. Combined with no less than 8GB of RAM memory, this delivers decent performance for a wide audience. The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh and can be charged quickly with 18W. For even higher speeds you should look at the Reno4 5G or Reno4 Pro 5G. These do feature 65W SuperVOOC fast charging.
