Comparing Bluetooth Trackers: Never Lose Your Belongings Again (2026)
Are you about to set off, but can’t find your keys anywhere? Or do you want to check in your suitcase at the airport with complete peace of mind? A Bluetooth tracker is the smallest investment that offers the greatest peace of mind. Whether you’re an iPhone fanatic or an Android loyalist, there’s always a tracker that fits your ecosystem perfectly. We’ll help you find the best deal amongst the latest models of 2026.

Find your belongings anywhere in the world with the right network
The main advantage of a modern Bluetooth tracker isn’t the Bluetooth connection itself, but the global network of devices behind it. Whereas in the past you could only find your keys if you were within 10 metres, today’s trackers use millions of mobile phones to relay your location anonymously.
Which tracker is compatible with your smartphone?
Not every tracker works with every phone. This is the most important decision you’ll need to make. Although brands such as Tile are universal, phone manufacturers’ ‘proprietary’ trackers often offer the most accurate location tracking.
- Apple users: The Apple AirTag 2 is the undisputed king thanks to the vast ‘Find My’ network.
- Samsung users: The Galaxy SmartTag 2 works seamlessly with your Samsung account and offers handy extras such as controlling your smart home.
- Android & Google: The Motorola Moto Tag and Xiaomi Tag make the most of Google’s revamped ‘Find My Device’ network.
Ultra Wideband (UWB): Navigation accurate to the centimetre
Are you looking for a tracker for your set of keys that often disappears between the sofa cushions? Then look out for Ultra Wideband (UWB). This allows you to see an arrow on your screen pointing you in exactly the right direction, rather than just playing a sound.
Never run out of battery at the wrong moment again
Most modern trackers, such as the popular Chipolo One Spot or the Tile Pro, use a standard CR2032 button cell battery. This is a major advantage: you never have to recharge the tracker. The battery lasts for about a year on average and can be replaced for a few euros at any supermarket.
Sometimes an accessory is needed to attach it
Some Bluetooth trackers have a loop so you can easily attach them to something, such as your keys. Others do not. You’ll then need to buy a separate accessory to attach it to something. Bear these costs in mind if you’re considering buying one.
Preventing unwanted tracking
A small device that can track your location naturally raises privacy concerns. And rightly so. In theory, someone could attach an AirTag or other tracker to the underside of your car, place it under your bike saddle or slip it into a bag.
Both Apple iPhones and Google Android phones will alert you if you’re unwittingly carrying an AirTag or other ‘Find My’ tracker. For iPhones, this requires iOS 14.5 or later. Check that the following settings are enabled:
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services (switch on)
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System (switch on ‘Find My iPhone’)
- Settings > Bluetooth (switch on Bluetooth)
- Settings > Notifications > Tracking notifications (switch ‘Allow notifications’ on)
- Switch off Airplane mode
Since 2023, Android has also been able to tell you if you’re carrying AirTags without realising it. Android users can also download the Tracker Detect app from Apple. This app searches for AirTags that are travelling with you without your knowledge.
