The POCO F4 GT is a gaming phone with matching specifications, such as a smooth 120Hz screen, powerful performance, and lightning-fast charging, so you don't have to miss any of the action. But is it also a good phone? And one with a good camera? We're going to find out for you here.
What makes a gaming phone a gaming phone? First of all, of course, the performance. POCO uses a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor based on 4nm. This chipset is potent and therefore delivers high performance. But then you need a screen that can handle that. Fortunately, there's a capable 120Hz screen up front for extra smooth playback. In addition, you won't be distracted, thanks to the flat AMOLED screen. But then it must be able to keep its cool, especially when the excitement is rising. That's why LiquidCool technology is used inside. This uses graphene in combination with stainless steel Vapour Chambers. This dissipates heat efficiently and rapidly, allowing the processor to operate coolly.
We find a triple camera system on the back of the POCO F4 GT. The main camera consists of a 64MP Sony sensor for great detail and colourful images. There is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera present with wide 120° viewing angle and another 2MP macro camera for extreme close-ups. The latter gets you super close to a subject but its results are not great due to the low resolution. You can shoot video in up to 4K at 60fps. What is missing is a separate camera for zooming. A telephoto lens would not have been out of place. What is also missing is a separate headphone port. Crazy really for a gaming phone. So you'll have to use your headset wirelessly or not at all.
Inside the F4 GT, POCO further utilises the fastest LPDDR5 memory, a quad of speakers for high-quality sound, an extra microphone on the side to keep your voice from being blocked, magnetic buttons near the ends for console-like control, and an improved vibration motor for realistic haptic feedback. There's even RGB lighting around the camera. All that gaming awesomeness comes with a price tag. Something we are not used to from POCO, they usually make inexpensive phones. But if you want the best of the best then you cannot ignore this F4 GT. Moreover, compared to other gaming phones like the Asus ROG Phone 5s it is even priced quite favourably.
