The POCO X5 is a 5G smartphone with attractive features at a low price. A good trade-off between price and quality seems to have been made here. How exactly do we explain to you here.
Typically, Poco focuses on camera features with the X series. That doesn't seem to have happened with this X5 5G. On the back, we find a triple camera system with up to 48 megapixels, but the POCO X5 doesn't stick its neck out with that. The 2MP macro lens, for example, with which you can take extreme close-ups of flowers, adds little. There is too little resolution to make sharp images. A zoom lens is also missing. However, you have an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera to capture vast landscapes and spacious cityscapes in one shot.

On the other hand, the POCO X5 5G does feature a generous display. It measures a generous 6.67 inches and features a bright 1200 nits panel with a colourful AMOLED display and smooth 120Hz screen refresh. We have found these specifications, usually on high-end phones, not midrange-segment models. Also more than neat is the 33W fast charging that fills the 5000mAh battery back up dozens of percent in mere minutes. The charger required for this is found in the box. Neat.
Poco has equipped the X5 5G with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. A chip built on 5nm that is up to 2.2GHz fast. This chipset supports 5G so that you can have fast Internet on the go. It is a fine chipset, but it is not super fast. Especially if you want to play games with it, it sometimes falters. You notice little of that during daily use, mainly because the high 120Hz display makes it feel fast. And that means we can live with this design choice, especially considering that the POCO X5 is competitively priced. And then you also get infra-red and a headphone port with it. Controlling your TV and listening to music wired are thus amongst the possibilities.
