DotDisplay: things it can do and things it can't

If you have nothing to do for an afternoon, we suggest you delve into the naming of Xiaomi phones. It's a rabbit hole you can't get out of. There is simply no way to make sense of it. So what makes this Redmi Note 10 Redmi, what makes it a Note; we don't know. So let's limit ourselves to what it can do. The 6.43-inch screen, for example, is not overly large, features fairly thin screen bezels, and comes with a colourful AMOLED panel. The FHD+ resolution is sharp and the colour reproduction is good. There is a special reading mode that filters blue light and is therefore better for the eyes. What the screen cannot do is read your fingerprint. The fingerprint scanner is found on the side of the device.

AI Quad Camera with 48MP primary camera

Turning over the Redmi Note 10, our eye catches an interestingly designed camera. The grandest camera is the 48MP main camera. Sharp enough for clear shots, even in the dark. There is also an 8MP camera with ultra wide-angle lens and 118° angle of view, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. With the first one, you can photograph groups of people, buildings or landscapes, while the latter takes care of portrait mode. The only thing that is missing is a separate zoom camera (telephoto). You can only zoom digitally. The camera on the front features a 13MP sensor and f/2.45 lens. It has its own portrait mode, an AI Beauty mode and it can shoot multiple photos in a row (burst). In video mode, it can even create a time-lapse where you can speed up video playback.

Large battery, fast charging and stereo sound

Inside the Redmi Note 10, we find a Snapdragon 678 processor from Qualcomm. That's an average chipset that's fine for every-day tasks. Do you necessarily want to be able to game with it then we recommend the 6/128GB model. That has just a little more memory than the 4/64GB model. Also because the memory is not expandable, we would rather recommend the 6/128GB version. The battery measures a neat 5000 mAh, enough for a day and a half of use. Fast charging is possible thanks to the 33W charger. This makes half of your battery full after 25 minutes. Another plus are the stereo speakers with hi-res sound. If you prefer to listen wired then that is no problem thanks to the 3.5mm audio jack. You can simply plug in your favourite headphones.
