Modern 3D Curved Design

This Redmi Note 9T is quite an attractive phone thanks to its 6.53-inch DotDisplay. No old-fashioned notch here but a modern punch-hole in the corner for the selfie camera. The image is sharp thanks to the high FHD + resolution and protection is guaranteed by the application of sturdy and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 5. Fingerprint recognition is found on the side in the power button. The curved back is textured to prevent it from slipping out of your hands. An added benefit is that fingerprints will hardly be able to get a grip on it.

48MP camera but nothing special

The three cameras on the back are in a round recess. In it we find the 48MP main camera. Because it does Pixel Binning, you shoot pictures in 12MP. 4 pixels are merged into 1 super-pixel and that provides better exposed photos. This is especially useful during twilight. There is also a 2MP depth camera for portraits and a 2MP macro camera for extreme close-ups. The latter does not really offer an added value due to its limited resolution. We would have preferred a separate ultra-wide-angle camera. All in all, the camera is nice but nothing special. There is a 13MP selfie camera on the front, which is above average.

First Redmi Note with stereo sound

Inside the Redmi Note 9T is its biggest asset; a 5000 mAh battery. More than enough for a full day of intensive use. Charging can be done with up to 18W and the charger is included free of charge. According to Xiaomi, the battery is already one third full after 18 minutes. The housing has a nano coating, which makes it splashproof. It is not really waterproof. On the bottom you will find a headphone jack, but you can also listen to music without headphones. This is the first Redmi Note with stereo speakers.
