When do Samsung handsets drop in price?
Two moments make the biggest difference.
- When the successor is on its way: as soon as the new generation is announced, the previous model’s price drops systematically. For the Galaxy S series, this happens in the first few months of the year; for the Galaxy A series, this happens in the spring, and for the foldable Galaxy Z devices, in the summer.
- Around the regular promotional periods: in November during Black Friday and in December around the Christmas deals, you’ll find the best prices, usually on models that have already been on the market for six months or longer.
Bear in mind the terms and conditions for cashback and trade-ins
Samsung frequently runs temporary promotions: cashback, extra storage or a high trade-in value for your old device. These really do reduce the price, but come with conditions: purchase within a specific period, registration afterwards and a trade-in value that only applies to a device without damage. Only factor in such a promotion if you’re certain you meet the conditions, and compare the final price with the standard lowest price.
