Doro phones stand out for their simplicity, whether they are standard phones or smartphones. Doro is traditionally a Swedish company but supplies products throughout almost the entire EU.

Assistance button

Most Doro products feature an assistance button. This is a physical button, usually located on the back of the handset. It is activated by pressing and holding it for three seconds (or pressing it twice in quick succession). The handset then calls a pre-set list of contacts (up to three). If the person does not answer, the next person on the list is called.

If desired, a text message can also be sent (Assistance SMS). This is a pre-set message, such as ‘This is an emergency message from Mr Jansen in Apeldoorn’. Some more advanced Doro phones can also send the person’s location or a photo. This requires the phone to be equipped with GPS and/or a camera.
