Buy Nothing mobile phones
Need a new Nothing phone? Don’t let anything stop you from finding the best deal. Here’s a list of all the Nothing smartphones, featuring innovative Glyph lighting. Why blend in with the crowd? Nothing models are different and offer an affordable, powerful alternative.

Nothing Technology Limited, which spells its name as NOTHING, is a British company founded by Carl Pei. This Chinese-Swedish entrepreneur was previously a co-founder of OnePlus and is therefore no stranger to the mobile phone industry.
History of Nothing
Carl Pei founded Nothing in 2020 after leaving OnePlus. A year later, the company launched the Nothing Ear (1), funded by investors such as Tony Fadell (one of the creators of the iPod), Steve Huffman (CEO of Reddit), Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch) and Casey Neistat (YouTuber). These wireless earbuds featured a partially transparent housing.
The first phone was launched in July 2022: the Nothing Phone (1). This was a premium mid-range model, also featuring a partially transparent casing and, this time, LED lighting that forms part of the interface.
Nothing OS
Nothing phones run on Android with their own custom skin, Nothing OS. This interface stands out for its use of black and white with red accents and a typeface made up of dots.
The lighting on the back is used by the interface to indicate notifications, for example. This is called the Glyph Interface. The lighting can also pulsate in time with your ringtone, and the torch function is called Glyph Torch.
With the Nothing Phone (3) from 2025, Nothing replaced those light strips with a small dot matrix display on the back, the Glyph Matrix. Not every model has this: cheaper handsets retain a simpler design. Don’t let the Glyph lighting feature be a major factor in your decision. It’s primarily a design choice and says nothing about the screen, camera or battery life.
Which Nothing phone is right for you?
Nothing operates with two product lines. The top-of-the-range model, the Nothing Phone (3), features the fastest hardware, the Glyph Matrix and the longest update commitment: five Android upgrades and seven years of security updates.
The a-series is the more affordable range, featuring, amongst others, the Nothing Phone (4a) and the Phone (4a) Pro as the latest models, alongside the 3a and 2a devices. These share the same design but have simpler hardware, and the 3a series receives three Android upgrades and six years of security updates: fewer than the top-of-the-range model. If you’re primarily looking for the design rather than top-of-the-range performance, the a-series is the logical choice.
CMF by Nothing
In 2023, Nothing launched a sub-brand called “CMF by Nothing”. This sub-brand aims to bring Nothing’s design philosophy to other products, including wireless earbuds, smartwatches and chargers. CMF has also been releasing its own phones since 2024; these are not included in this overview.
