Press material shows Oppo Find X5 Pro with Hasselblad camera

Press images of the upcoming Oppo Find X5 Pro have surfaced. On this the new flagship can be seen in both black and white. From the promo images, there appears to be a collaboration with Hasselblad and MariSilicon is used on the inside.

The upcoming Oppo Find X5 Pro is the intended successor to the Find X3 Pro. The number 4 is once again skipped due to Chinese superstitions. The images make it clear that both phones use the same design. For example, the camera module rises gradually from the glossy back.

Especially noteworthy is the collaboration with Hasselblad. This Swedish camera manufacturer previously collaborated primarily with OnePlus, something that resulted in the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. Hasselblad is not switching teams, however. Both Oppo and OnePlus are owned by BBK Electronics and is gradually merging the two brands for some time now.

Double 50MP camera

What the Hasselblad collaboration means specifically for the Oppo Find X5 Pro is still unclear, though it seems clear that the device will feature a dual 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and a 13MP telephoto camera for zooming. A report from Winfuture further states that the zoom level is 5x optical and 20x digital.

Oppo has further printed the word "MariSilicon" on the back of the camera. This self-developed chip seems to take care of some camera functions. However, there seems to be no question of a complete mobile processor; rumor has it that Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will take care of the rest of the processing power. We may hear more about this at the end of February, beginning of March. This is when the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) starts in Barcelona.
