Samsung Galaxy A57 surfaces early: hands-on video reveals specs and price
The upcoming Galaxy A57 has yet to be announced by Samsung, so it is remarkable that a hands-on video has already surfaced. The video was shot by a TikTok user at a store in Thailand.
That unannounced Samsung phones hit stores early is not unusual. Even the Galaxy S26 series was spotted in physical stores, including in Dubai, before the official announcement. Now the same seems to be happening with the more affordable Galaxy A57. This one was found in a Thai store.
As evidenced by the TikTok video, this is not a dummy but a working unit. We see the official model number SM-A576B/DS and the familiar One UI: the software interface Samsung uses for Galaxy phones.
Accompanying the device is a sign showing that it features a 12MP camera with 4K video, Gorilla Glass Victus+, and an IP68 rating. We previously tracked that higher IP rating thru its official energy label. For the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, the store is asking 17,999 baht, or €485 converted. The model with 512GB costs €566.
The maker of the video hides the IMEI number to prevent Samsung from recognising the specific device. This indicates someone who knows what they are doing and thus presumably a store owner and not a random customer.
The fact that Samsung has now started shipping stock to stores possibly says something about when the device will be officially announced. Perhaps that won't take long. Earlier rumours also spoke of a March launch. If Samsung wants to meet that launch date, the official announcement should follow within two weeks.
