Rumour: This is what the Google Pixel 11 Pro with new camera bar will look like

CAD drawings of the upcoming Google Pixel 11 Pro have surfaced. This high-end smartphone retains its ikonic rear camera layout, making it easily recognisable. However, there are subtle differences. We'll detail those differences here.

Just as a contractor needs blueprints to build a house, a factory needs CAD drawings to manufacture a phone. These CAD sketches of the upcoming Pixel 11 Pro have arrived. They show the successor to the Pixel 10 Pro.

These show that Google is making changes to the rear camera island. It still stretches across the entire width but, like the cameras, is now behind glass. On its predecessor, this was still metal. The temperature sensor also appears to have disappeared. This allowed you to measure someone's body temperature on the Pixel 10 Pro. This was done in a somewhat cumbersome way and was therefore rarely used.

No temperature sensor for Pixel 11 Pro

Furthermore, it looks like Google is adding an extra thick rim around the camera island. In reality, this was always the case, but it was less noticeable because the flash and temperature sensor on the right had a metal background. Despite this change, the Pixel 11 Pro retains its identity and won't wobble when laid flat on a table. Something many other smartphones struggle with.

According to the source, the Pixel 11 Pro will have dimensions of 152.7 by 71.8 by 8.4 millimetres, which is within 0.1 millimetre of its predecessor.

Pixel 11 Pro specifications and availability

Not much can be said about the expected specifications yet, except for what is obvious. These include a new Tensor chip, enough RAM for various AI applications, and hopefully the same starting price as last year. Apple also kept prices the same, despite rising costs for memory chips. Samsung did pass the cost on to consumers. A launch is not expected until August 2026.
